Automobile Recycling - A Family Business

Auto Acres has been in business since 1953, and has been operated by the Arnold family since 1957.  Several other operations have spun off the mother company over the years, resulting in members of the Arnold family currently operating five recycling centers in Illinois and Iowa.

Auto Acres was the second dismantling center in the nation to have an in-house computer system, installed in 1978.  (Today there are over 2000 salvage yards with computer systems.)  Our ADP/Hollander computer system gives us immediate access to the inventory of sixteen other salvage operations, providing us with a much larger inventory pool.  An electronic data exchange network (called EDEN) that connects us with over 1000 other salvage yards from coast to coast.

Auto Acres is located on six acres with four warehouses, providing over 200,000 square feet of parts storage.  We are staffed by thirty full-time and two part-time employees, and generate over 3 million in sales annually.

Our sales are 60% wholesale and 40% retail, and we offer free local delivery and a six month warranty on all used parts in stock.  We dismantle 550 vehicles and sell 250 rebuildable vehicles annually.  Auto Acres handles both foreign and domestic cars, trucks, and vans.

Auto Acres belongs to two trade organizations, The Auto and Truck Recyclers of Illinois (ATRI) and the Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA).

Our sister yard, U-PULL-A-PART, was established in 1986.  They handle older vehicles, specializing in self-service salvage at dirt cheap prices.
